Ex-Nature Center Employee Arrested for Child Porn

Arrest stems from an investigation launched in 2009.

Milford police officers arrested Timothy J. Yancey at approximately 6 p.m. Tuesday on a New Canaan warrant for child pornography charges

Subsequent to Yancey's arrest, police executed search warrants of his vehicle and residence on Viscount Drive in Milford.

The investigation leading to the 57-year-old's arrest was prompted by a complaint made in April 2009 when Yancey was employed at the New Canaan Nature Center where the offense allegedly took place. The case was being handled by another agency until February, 2010, when it was turned over to New Canaan Police.

The maintenance worker was charged Tuesday with possession of child pornography in the 1st degree and having a weapon in a motor vehicle.

He was arraigned today at Superior Court in Norwalk and is being held on $250,oo0. He has not yet entered a plea.
