Fighting New Canaan Couple Charged After Fake 911 Call

New Canaan police arrested a couple on disorderly conduct charges after police arrived to the home when the boyfriend involved called police and then hung up.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, authorities received an abandoned call on September 4 at approximately 11:25 p.m. The caller immediately hung up the phone, but police traced the call to 77 Locust Avenue, the address of James H. Bebrin, 28.

He and his girlfriend, Lauren M. Kalriess, 32, of 184 Peaceable Ridge Road in Ridgefield, had been having an argument when Bebrin allegedly claimed he was going to call 911 on Kalriess, but allegedly tried hanging up before actually dialing.

Ogrinc said the dispute did not turn physical, but there were items strewn about the residence.

They were each charged, released on a Promise To Appear, and scheduled to appear in court on September 5, 2013.
