Fire Log: Crashes, Smoke in Kitchens

Firefighters kept busy with car accidents, small blazes

 

Crash with heavy damage: Firefighters on Wednesday at 10:04 a.m. responded to a crash at Glen Drive and Rt. 123. There was heavy damage and two passengers were injured. Firefighters were on the scene for about half an hour applying speedy dry and awaiting the wrecker. The road was closed for about 40 minutes.  

One-car crash: On Sunday at 8:03 p.m. firefighters responded to a car vs. tree crash at 265 Jelliff Mill Road. Occupants were treated for EMS at the scene.

False alarm:  Firefighters responded to a false alarm at 159 Lost District Drive on Wednesday.

Slip and fall: Firefighters were called to 6 River St. Tuesday on the report of a fall. A 55-year-old man slipped and fell, injuring his knee.

Smoke from stove: On Monday, firefighters responded to 70 Dunning Road on a report of smoke. They found the alarm had ben set off by pots on a stove.

Plumbing leak: An alarm was activated at 15 Father Peters Lane by a plumbing leak on Monday.

Fluid spill: Firefighters responded at 8:21 a.m. Monday to New Norwalk Road and Old Norwalk Road for a minor fluids spill.  

Smoke in building: Firefighters responded Sunday to 81 Heritage Hill Road, Oenoke Condos, for smoke in the basement from a furnance problem. One patient was treated.

False alarms: On Sunday, false alarms were reported at 685 Old Stamford Road and  260 West Road.

Stovetop fire: One person was injured from a stovetop fire on Saturday. Firefighters responded to  597 New Norwalk Road at 8:42 p.m. One person suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the left arm from the elbow to the hand.
