Firefighters responded to two traffic accidents and two transformer fires in the past week.
On Thursday, Sept. 24, just before 9 p.m., the fire department responded to multiple 911 calls about a two-car accident at Smith Ridge and Canoe Hill Rd. According to fire reports, there were no injuries.
The other traffic accident occurred on Monday, Sept. 28, just after 2 p.m. at South Avenue and Crystal Street. Firefighters needed to use extrication gear after three vehicles collided.

Firefighters responded to two odor investigations on the same day. The first was on Adams Lane just before 7 a.m., where they found no evidence of elevated readings. The second occurred at 9:45 p.m. at St. Lukes School. Engine 4 shut down two outside gas tanks a short time later.
Firefighters investigated an electrical box problem at the First Presbyterian Church at 178 Oenoke Rd. on Thursday.

A transformer fire was reported to fire headquarters around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, at 80 Logan Rd. The fire was attributed to overgrowth on the wires. CL&P was notified.
On Sunday, another transformer problem cause a pole fire at 276 White Oak Shade Rd. CL&P was notified.
The department received 12 false alarms during the week.
