Two Wilton wrestlers were arrested on Saturday for stealing a flag from New Canaan High School. Did police do right thing?
were caught stealing a Rams flag from the press box at New Canaan High School last Saturday. They were charged with third-degree burgalry and sixth-degree larceny. This topic has generated a lot of comments from our Patch readers:
Throw the book at them but let the bullies that threaten and punch kids at Saxe get away with their attacks without servere punishment.
These “alleged” felons should be prosecuted to the full extent allowed by the law: 5 years for the burglary and 3 months for the larceny, plus $5,500 in fines. If there are any other 140 lb felons living in Wlton, they should be warned not to come to New Canaan and attempt to dishonor the town's mascot flag by stealing it from the press box building. New Canaan Police and Security Services are always active and vigilant and this attempted invasion of our privacy and property was vigorously prevented by their prompt action.
