Police say that a blue minivan with occupants posing as newspaper delivery people may be connected to a pair of residential burglaries in New Canaan this week.
According to a press statement from New Canaan Police Department Capt. Leon Krolikowski, officers are investigating burglaries that occurred between 12 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday—one on North Wilton Road and one on Long Lots Raod.
“Jewelry, electronics and other valuables were taken during these burglaries,” Krolikowski said.
The blue minivan, a Toyota with Florida plates and no rear hubcaps was seen in the general area of the burglary on March 12, he said.
“A passenger in this minivan is described as a male Hispanic, 40 years of age, muscular build,” he said.
Police say residents should lock doors and activate alarm systems, even if they’re leaving home for a short period of time.
Residents should report all suspicious persons or vehicles to the New Canaan Police Department at 203-594-3500 or if it is an emergency via 911.
