Medical Examiner: Couple's Deaths Result of Suicide, Homicide

The chief medical examiner's office confirmed Tuesday that the double shooting in New Canaan last Friday was the result of suicide and homicide.

 

, the result of a suicide, a spokesperson from the office of the Chief Medical Examiner told Patch Tuesday morning. , also died from a gunshot wound to the head, the result of a homicide, the office also confirmed.

The spokesperson said she couldn't release other details.

Autopsies were performed on Monday, despite a spokesperson from the office telling Patch late Monday afternoon they were pushed back until Tuesday.

On Friday, Sept. 21, New Canaan police responded to the apartment complex at 131 Park Street after receiving a report of gunshots fired that afternoon. The bodies of Owen and Falgout-Owen were then discovered.
