New Canaan Car Burglary: Only Item Taken—a $400 Pen

A New Canaan man reported a larceny from his car, which was parked in his driveway at the time, sometime overnight the day after Christmas, police said this week.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the 46-year-old man's vehicle was parked in his Adams Lane residence driveway when someone entered it overnight sometime after 11 p.m. between Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Dec. 26. The man reported the incident at approximately 11:29 a.m. on the 26th.

It appeared the man left his door unlocked as there were no signs of forced entry. Police said the only item stolen from the vehicle was a Mont Blanc pen valued at $380. Nothing else was taken or damaged.
