Police said the driver had all warning apparatus engaged and even sounded the horn, but all attempts to make the vehicle stop were ignored.
An 84-year-old woman was issued a summons for passing a school bus that was dropping children off in the area of Lakeview Avenue and Summer Street, according to New Canaan Police.
Authorities said a male bus driver dropping children off in the area of Lakeview and Summer on March 27 at approximately 3 p.m. had activated his warning lights and stop sign when a vehicle being operated by Rose M. Munley, of Lakeview Ave., passed by him.
The driver told police he'd also honked his horn, but the vehicle failed to yield. According to police, the driver described the car to police as a tan Lexus and informed them he'd written down or otherwise obtained the plate number to the vehicle.
