New Canaan Girl Pulls Knife on Twin Brother

A dispute erupted between the siblings at their East Avenue residence and the police were called.

 

A teenage boy and girl were arrested on August 25 by New Canaan police after a dispute got out of hand, police said.

A 17-year-old girl and her twin brother got into an altercation in which the brother allegedly was punching his sister and the girl was allegedly punching and kicking her brother, said Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The situation escalated when the girl allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened her brother with it, said Ogrinc.

The brother was charged with third-degree assault (misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct and his sister was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree threatening, and disorderly conduct, said Ogrinc.

Both were released on the promise to appear to their August 28 court hearing at juvenile court in Stamford, police said.
