New Canaan Man Accused of Holding Knife Against Wife

A New Canaan man is charged with threatening his wife and holding a knife to her.

A New Canaan man was arrested twice last month, once after his wife said he held a knife against her and another time when he was accused of threatening her.

New Canaan police gave this account (accusations not proven in court) of the matter:

The wife of Greg Peck, 42, of Park Street came to police in January to tell them that Peck had threatened her and thrown things around a room. He was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening.

When police went to arrest Peck on Jan. 13, he resisted and was tased. He also was charged with resisting arrest. He appeared in state Superior Court in Norwalk on those charges on Jan. 14.

Peck's wife also told police about an incident in December when she said Peck held a knife to her. Police pursued charges on that with an application for an arrest warrant.

It took some additional time for the arrest warrant to be approved after a prosecutor asked police to get more information on the incident. A judge later approved the warrant, which charges Peck with reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, interfering with a 911 call and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Peck was arrested a second time on Wednesday, Jan. 29, then released on a $5,000 bond. He is next due to appear in court on Feb. 21.
