New Canaan Man Arrested for Assaulting Daughter

He turned himself in on a warrant.

 

On Nov. 20, a 50-year-old New Canaan male turned himself in to police custody after being notified a warrant was out for his arrest for his alleged assault of his teenage daughter. The assault allegedly took place on Nov. 11 at 3:39 p.m.

According to police, the Department of Children and Families notified the police department of the situation after saying the received an anonymous call. Investigation revealed the father did assault his daughter, police said. The daughter’s injuries did not warrant medical treatment, police said.

The man was charged with assault in the third degree, disorderly conduct and threatening in the second degree.

He was released on a promise to appear in court Nov. 21.
