New Canaan Pair Charged With First-Degree Larceny

The charges stem from a New Canaan financial advisor who allegedly misappropriated a large amount of money from a client.

New Canaan police arrested two residents on Friday after they were informed police had a warrant for their arrest.

Paula L. Halloran, 39, and Michael Michelsen, 57, both of 24 St. Johns Place, were charged with larceny in the first-degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the first-degree on Feb. 25 at police headquarters.

According to police, the charges stem from Halloran’s work as a financial advisor to an unnamed victim in which a large amount of money was allegedly misappropriated.

Halloran and Michelsen were released on a $25,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 7.

New Canaan police were not available for comment Friday afternoon.
