New Canaan police are investigating reports of mail-tampering on Michigan Road after a man began complaining in January about issues with his deliveries.
According to police, beginning in January, a man began reporting what he believed to be on-and-off tempering with his mail along Michigan Road. Police said he began reporting issues with the mail again on Saturday, March 16.
Police said the complainant is reporting pieces of mail being open upon retrieval from his mail box, though they did not specify with what type of mail he was reportedly having issues. The complainant also reported nothing was missing from the envelope.
The post office is involved in the investigation and the man is watching his credit and participating in other identity theft-related checks.
