New Canaan Youth Assaulted on Maple Street
A New Canaan teen was attacked by another youth late Saturday night while out walking.
New Canaan police are investigating the assault of a 16-year-old New Canaan boy who was hit by other teens while out walking at 10:47 p.m. on June 2, police said.
The victim reported to police that he and some friends were at the Mobil station on South Avenue when another group of teens walked by and started shouting the victim's name. The victim and his friends said they then walked south on South Avenue and ended up on Maple Street, at which point the attacker and another teen showed up, said Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The attacker (allegedly from Stamford, not yet confirmed) punched the victim in the face and also kicked the victim in the face, police said
The victim called New Canaan police and the attacker and other teen fled the scene, said Ogrinc.

The victim was bleeding from his nose and his face was swollen, police said.
Ogrinc said she will be interviewing the teens soon and is confident the attacker will be identified.
