Norwalk Construction Company Reports $5,600 Theft from New Canaan Site

A Lakeview Avenue apartment complex undergoing construction reportedly had more than $5,000 worth of materials stolen from the site this past week during a period where weather kept the crew off the job site, police said.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc this week, on Wednesday, December 11, at approximately 10:52 a.m. police responded to a complaint from the 50-year-old owner of the Norwalk construction company who said a number of items were missing from the site. The crew had last been at the site on Friday, Dec. 6., Ogrinc said.

Ogrinc said the company had left a pallet of supplies at the site, including 60 different sized boards, 180 composite boards, six boxes of different types of screws and two boxes of bolts. The items were valued at $5,600.

The incident remains under investigation.
