According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department, Fischer slid off of the road as snow started collecting and ended up in the woods, his truck sustaining damage to its undercarriage.

Police spoke to Fischer as his car was being towed and smelled alcohol on his breath, Ogrinc said.
