Resident Reports Credit Card Fraud
Police are investigating the fraudulent use of a 22-year-old New Canaan woman's credit card by an individual who then requested she mail the items to Alabama, police said.
The woman noticed two purchases made with her debit card on Aug. 29, one of which was a portable Playstation PSP for $255.96 and a purchase on an online pet store $19.99, according to Ogrinc.
Both items were delivered to the woman's home and an individual — potentially the person responsible for the fraudulent purchase — emailed the woman requesting that she mail the items to Alabama. The incident is still under investigation, said Ogrinc.
