Police Blotter: Arrests Follow Parent-Teen Dispute

Patrol leads to three arrests for pot possession.

Father, Son Both Arrested After Dispute:

Steven Stuart, 54, and his 15-year-old son were both arrested at their home in New Canaan for alleged disorderly conduct following a heated argument around noon Wednesday, April 7. Both were released on a promise to appear in court the next day.


Marijuana Allegedly Found Throughout Vehicle:

Police charged Elizabeth Forbes, 24, of South Salem, NY, with possession drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana on Monday, April 5, but what officers allegedly found was distributed all over her car.

After pulling her over on New Norwalk Road near Hoyt Farm Road shortly around 8:20 p.m. for driving with one headlight out, an officer reportedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana and she admitted when asked that there were drugs in the car.

According to the police report, the search revealed a small plastic container of marijuana buds in the center console along with a multi-colored glass pipe, a bag of marijuana stems, and a package of rolling papers; underneath the driver's seat was another glass pipe and more marijuana in a small pouch; in the glove box—two bags containing marijuana; and in the backseat—a grinder and a small zip-lock baggie with more marijuana.

Forbes posted $230 bond and is due in court April 16.


Defective Brake Light Leads to Pot Arrest:


An officer pulled over 20-year-old Leandrew Berrio of Norwalk shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, after noticing when he stopped at the intersection of White Oak Shade Road and Nursery Road that the center and left brake lights on his vehicle were not working.

While that officer was asking Berrio for his license and registration, another allegedly noticed marijuana and rolling papers inside the vehicle. Police then reportedly found more marijuana and rolling papers on Berrio.

He was given a written warning for the defective brake light and was released on a promise to appear April 19 on charges he was in possession of drug paraphernalia and less than 4 ounces of marijuana.


New Canaan Teen Allegedly Pulls Weed Pipe from Pocket:

At 1:19 a.m. Sunday, April 11, an officer driving down Four Winds Lane while on patrol reportedly saw 18-year-old Sean S. Frisoli of New Canaan lying on the ground near his car, looking sick. When the officer approached and asked Frisoli, now standing, to take his hands out of his pockets the teen also allegedly pulled out a glass pipe containing marijuana residue. Police charged Frisoli with possession of less than 4 ounces of the drug and possession of paraphernalia and then released him on a promise to appear in court April 22.


Third Locker Theft Report at YMCA:

After hearing of two similar incidents, a 55-year-old New Canaan resident reported to police Tuesday, April 6, that a credit card and $240 in cash had been stolen from his wallet while he too thought it was secured in a locker in the men's locker room at the YMCA between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. March 30. The man realized the theft when his bank called the next day about suspicious activity on his credit card—$900 had been charged at stores in Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Stamford. Police are investigating and suspect the three thefts from locked lockers at the Y are related.


License Plate Stolen:


A 64-year-old New Canaan resident reported to policy Tuesday, April 6, that the front plate had apparently been taken from his vehicle. He was not sure where the vehicle was when the plate disappeared.


Writer of Bad Check to Book Sale Surfaces:

Saul H. Fellman, 74, of Bohemia, NY allegedly issued a bad check for $1,264.50 for purchases at the Smith College Alumnae Book Sale in April 2009. After the check was returned insufficient funds, the complainant reportedly tried contacted Fellman but got no response and ultimately reported it to police in June, 2009. Police said Fellman acknowledged receiving notification of the warrant at that time, but had not been heard from since. He turned himself in nearly a year later at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 8. He posted $1,500 bond and is due in court April 21.


Woman Failed to Appear on Motor Vehicle Charges:

Carolyn Fuller, 61, of Norwalk turned herself in Monday, April 5, for failure to appear March 26 on charges she was allegedly driving under a suspended license and without insurance on Nov. 16, 2009. Fuller posted $250 bond and is due back in court April 19.
