Police Blotter: Smashed Mailbox; Cash Stolen; Credit Card Fraud

Police logged three crime reports in the past week.

Thieves Rack Up $2K in Credit Card Charges:

A 46-year-old resident of Oenoke Ridge Road called police Tuesday, Feb. 9, to report $2,087 worth of unauthorized charges made with his Visa card in December. Thieves had apparently purchased a netbook computer and four mobile phones online. Police are investigating.

Petty Cash Missing: 

A 45-year-old employee of a business on Locust Avenue reported to police Monday, Feb. 8, that $64 was missing from a cash box at the office. The money was last known to be in the box, which is usually left unlocked, on Jan. 21. Police are looking into who had access to the cash.

Mailbox Smashed: 

The mailbox in front of a house on Indian Rock Road was smashed Saturday, Feb. 13. The perpetrator may have been driving a white vehicle. The damage is estimated at $200.
