Police Blotter: Woman Scammed on Craigslist
Police also made an arrest in the past week when a man turned himself in after failing to appear in court.
Resident Scammed While Selling Ring Online:
A Lakeview Avenue woman became the victim of a scam after trying to sell a diamond ring on-line through Craigslist.
The 47-year-old woman reported to town police last Friday she had arranged to sell the ring to buyer in England for $599, with payment to be received through PayPal.

She said the buyer sent her an e-mail with what appeared to be a PayPal screen indicating they had overcharged him by $200, so he asked her to reimburse him the $200 when she sent the ring.
The woman sent both by Western Union, and later realized she was involved in a bogus transaction.

Police said the actual value of the ring was $1,500.
Man Charged for Missing Court Date:
A Stamford man turned himself in Tuesday for failing to appear in court on motor vehicle charges.
Police said Diego Cepeda, 36, of Field Street was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court, and was released after posting a $500 bond.
Cepeda was stopped in New Canaan last July and charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension and failing to turn in his license to the state.
He is now scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.
