A 22-year-old Stamford woman faces a minor drug citation after police stopped her on Silvermine Road for running a red light.
Jena Alcan of Webb Avenue was issued an infraction summons for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana at approximately 7:27 p.m. on Feb. 12.
According to police, Alcan ran a red light while traveling on New Norwalk Road.
The officer who stopped the motor vehicle had the New Canaan Police Department’s K-9 unit in the car, and the dog “indicated an odor of drugs in the vehicle,” according to a police report.
The officer asked Alcan whether there was any marijuana in the car, and she handed him a bag of “roaches” which amounted to less than .5 ounces of pot.
