Police: Man Yells to Woman That He'd Kill Her, Gets Arrested

Always avoid saying "I'll kill you" in an argument when someone else may be listening.

According to a police report, a man and his girlfriend were arguing, loudly, in or outside their condominium unit when at one point he yelled that he would kill her.

That was enough for someone to call police, who arrested the 45-year-old Forest Street man, New Canaan police said.

Police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the matter:

Police were called to the scene at 10:51 p.m. Saturday by someone (not the man's 33-year-old girlfriend) after he yelled the threat.

The man left the scene before police arrived, as did the girlfriend, but they were able to call him.

When he arrived at Police Department headquarters, police saw he had scratch marks on his forehead and neck. He said there was no argument and nothing happened.

But based on the witness' account, he was charged with second-degree threatening and released on a $25,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

Police never did get in touch with his girlfriend.
