Police Probe Afternoon House Burglaries

Homes broken into on Braeburn Drive, Old Norwalk Road

Police are investigating two house burglaries reported within minutes of each other Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:42 p.m., police received a call from a resident on Braeburn Drive who indicated that she arrived home and noticed a broken window on a door leading into her home.

The suspect or suspects forced entry and activated the alarm system, police said. The homeowner told officers at the scene that her alarm company contacted her to notify her that her alarm was activated. The homeowner thought it was a false alarm and requested not to send police. After receiving a second call from her alarm company stating motion sensors were activated, the homeowner requested the police respond.
