Fairfield police arrested a man on a Monroe warrant after he allegedly called his ex-girlfriend several times, left 11 voicemails and sent her 11 emails in spite of a protective order barring any contact with her.

Trumbull Police said a man wanted in Stratford for allegedly shoplifting was found at Best Buy in Trumbull with reportedly stolen items in his car.

A Westport woman was arrested after her two-year-old daughter was found roaming around a snow-covered street at night while temperatures were in the 20's, police said.

Stamford police got involved in a case where a Brick, NJ, man was allegedly harassing a New Canaan couple because he'd become obsessed with the woman, whom he had dated almost two decades prior. The man allegedly began harassing the woman's husband while he was at his finance-related job in Stamford—by doing things like ordering 20 pizzas at a time to be delivered.

An alleged drunk driver in Norwalk who police said couldn't pass a sobriety test got himself busted when he got into an accident—by rear-ending a detective.

A session of video games and beer got a reality check earlier this month when one of the gamers traded his controller for a set of car keys and drove his mother's Nissan into the base of a nearby house, police said.

Fairfield police are attempting to track down a suspect who stole a woman's car while it was at the gas pump at Cumberland Farms. According to the report, the woman had placed the pump in her gas tank and walked into the convenience store while the gas was pumping -- and when she returned, the car was gone.

A Cheshire woman was arrested on 170 counts of possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree larceny. According to Woodbury police, the arrest took place after an investigation into missing controlled substances at Woodbury Drug Store was completed.

I just called Staples. This is really disturbing to me. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, IRead More will let people know and I will also decide whether to continue shopping there. I do not like to give my money to unethical businesses.

This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense ofRead More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

if they had done it at night at least it wouldn't have been smudged. BUT, i happen to think itsRead More nice, and especially with the flags hanging. we forget we are a small new england town, and small things like the red white and blue stripes remind me that we still are! :)
