Police: Wife's Face Slap Gets Her Slapped with Disorderly Conduct Charge

Slapping someone in the face is a violation of the law. Even when it's your husband, as allegedly happened in this case.

When a Cheese Spring Road woman got into an argument with her husband on Sunday, she became angry and slapped him in the face, New Canaan police said.

Nothing terribly unusual about that. The unusual thing happened next: He told police, who came and charged her with disorderly conduct.

The 39-year-old wife was issued a misdemeanor summons and was told to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk the next day. She has another court date on July 16, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

This man either A) is a little girl who cannot handle being slapped by a woman or B) no longer wants to be married to this woman.

What your saying is that it's okay for a woman to strike a man and he has no recourse. Sounds a little biased to me.

I can imagine other possibilities that don't make him look nearly that bad, but I don't want to speculate. One thing he doesn't seem to have done — and police would certainly have looked for evidence of it and questioned the wife about it — is hit her back or grip her so strong as to leave marks. I suggest leaving the couple be without judging either of them. Most likely, both would be very grateful for that.

in my marriage my wife does not hit me and I don't hit her. We do not touch each other in anger and that is the way it should be. I don't understand why she is not facing domestic violence. If her husband came home and slapped her he would be facing them? Disorderly conduct? BS charges, they mean absolutely nothing more than a speeding ticket
