Rolex, Diamonds, Tiffany Bracelet Stolen

New Canaan Police took several reports of theft, domestic violence and narcotics use.

A 63-year-old male resident of Middle Ridge Road returned to his home at 2:10 p.m. on May 23 to find that his garage and home had been broken into, according to police. The 40-minute burglary occurred after the male and his wife had left their home. The male resident left his home first, and his wife left a half-an-hour later at 1:30 p.m., police said.

When the male resident returned home he first saw that the center window on his garage door had been shattered, police said. The garage door had been manually lifted by the burglar, with what New Canaan police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc believes was a tool to reach the motor system. The chord was pulled to disengage the motor, police said.

Stolen items reportedly include:

A 22-year-old Wilmington, Del. man, Connor C. Dalton, was arrested and charged with possession of less than 4 oz. of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on May 25. The arrest occurred on Summer Street at 3:45 p.m., police said.

The officer on duty pulled the driver of the vehicle, in which Dalton was a passenger, over because he noticed he was not wearing a seat belt while driving North on Millport Avenue, according to police. The officer, a K9 handler, was signaled by his four-legged partner. The canine suspected the scent of drugs on the passenger’s side of the vehicle, according to police. After the officer found a plastic container of marijuana, marijuana grinder and pipe behind the passenger’s seat, police said, he released Connor on a promise to return for a June 2 court date.
