Stamford Boy Arrested for Punching New Canaan Boy

The boy behind the June assault of a New Canaan teen on Maple Street has been arrested.

 

New Canaan police investigation led to the arrest of , police said.

On June 2, a 16-year-old Stamford boy and his friends followed a group of New Canaan teens on foot from the Mobil station to Main Street, where an altercation occurred and the boy from Stamford punched the boy from New Canaan, police said.

After Sgt. Carol Ogrinc investigated the incident, the Stamford boy turned himself into police and he was arrested on June 20, police said. He was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with an emergency call, police said.

The Stamford teen is scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Stamford on July 31 at 9 a.m., police said.
