Stamford Woman's Credit Card Stolen in New Canaan Used for $2K in Purchases

New Canaan police are investigating a woman who reported having her credit card stolen while she was at work in town and used to make purchases valued at more than $2,000, authorities said this week.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, a Stamford woman reported on Friday, January 24, that her credit card had been stolen while she was at work at a residence on Gerrish Lane. It was then used to make purchases estimated to be in the amount of $2,017.

Ogrinc said the woman noticed charges had been made without her authorization when she'd received her December bill. She then checked her purse and found the card was missing. The case remains under investigation.
