Suspicious Man Spotted at New Canaan Burglary Scene

Police said thousands in electronics and jewelry were stolen.

A New Canaan woman reported thousands of dollars in electronics and jewelry stolen from North Wilton Road on Tuesday, March 12, police reported Monday.

Police said a neighbor reported seeing a suspicious person on the property at approximately 1:30 p.m. The suspect was described as a male standing roughly 5-feet, 8-inches, with brown hair, wearing all black clothing.

The homeowner reportedly discovered several items stolen from the home, including a Macbook Air laptop worth $1,500, a Nikon digital camera worth $400-$500 dollars and a large quantity of jewelry worth thousands of dollars. All values are approximate.

According to authorities, the 46-year-old complainant left her home at approximately 1:10 p.m. that day. When she returned home about an hour-and-a-half later, she entered to find the home in disarray and a backdoor forced open.
