SUV Stolen in New Canaan Found (in Pretty Bad Shape) in West Haven

A 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo reported stolen from a Talmadge Hill Railroad Station parking lot on June 13 was found June 20 in West Haven by police there.

The vehicle, which had so much junk and personal items in it that New Canaan Police think it may have been used to sleep in, had been in some kind of accident, and it had lots of front-end damage.

Inside, police found receipts from stores such as McDonald's and Wal-Mart, trash, and bed sheets. Inside the SUV there was even a picture of a small child.

Also in the vehicle: Stolen license plates.

The vehicle had extensive front-end damage. Police suspect it may have been in an automobile accident.

New Canaan police are looking over the vehicle to see if they can find fingerprints or even evidence that DNA testing could tie to a certain individual.
