The Accident Report—Week of March 1

NCPD logged five accidents involving property damage in the past week.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS: 

Two-Car Crash at Stop Sign: 

On Monday, March 1, at 12:14 p.m. a vehicle pulling out of Maple Street struck another vehicle on South Avenue. The driver deemed at fault told police she had pulled out thinking that the other vehicle was turning onto Maple; she was cited for failure to grant right-of-way at a stop sign. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Car Hits Deer: 

A car hit a deer around 6:15 p.m. Thursday, March 4, near the intersection of Smith Ridge Road and North Wilton Road. The car was drivable.

Parked Car Hit: 

Returning to their car in a the Playhouse Lot at 2:37 p.m. Friday, March 5, a found a note from another driver stating that they had struck their vehicle. 

Fence Damaged in Hit-and-Run:

A property owner called police just before 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6, to report that a vehicle struck a fence on their property and took off. 

Vehicle Struck in Funeral Home Lot: 

The owner of the Hoyt Funeral Home witnessed a dark Chevy Blazer hit another vehicle in the home's parking lot on the afternoon of Sunday, March 7. The offending vehicle drove off.
