An email addressed to, "NC Black 8 Team Members" and signed, "The Coaches" was sent Saturday, Dec. 10 to the team parents, which they were asked to share with their sons, according to the Advertiser.

The loss, after a five-year winning streak, resulted in an end-of-year party, which included a walk to , where they were invited to toss their trophies into a bonfire at the suggestion of their coaches, according to a report by the Advertiser.
The incident, which occurred on Nov. 19, was reported anonymously to on Nov. 30 and corroborated by a parent and player, who also requested anonymity, when they spoke with Advertiser, according to the paper.
The town Fields Committee was notified last week and committee and said, “Clearly, this is wholly inappropriate conduct and frankly should never happen again," as reported by the Advertiser.
