Two Fake $100 Passed Off at Dunkin Donuts

Police are investigating two fake bills passed off in two days.

Time to make the... d'oh, nuts!

The 33-year-old manager of Dunkin Donuts at 98 Elm Street in New Canaan reported to police the store had fallen victim to a fake $100 bill passed off not once, but twice over two days.

The complainant told police the store had made a deposit and the Fairfield County Bank and the bank discovered two $100 bills in the deposit had been fakes, according to police. The manager informer authorities the incidents had occurred on April 5 and April 6.

According to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc, the first bill was passed off y a white male, though little information regarding the transaction was available. However, in the second incident, Ogrinc said a thin white or Hispanic male in his mid-20s to mid-30s with dark hair had been the customer.

In that second incident, the man had paid for an $8.67 transaction with the fake, receiving $91.33 in change.
