Two Larcenies Reported in New Canaan Last Week

The thefts were reported on Oct. 22 and Oct. 27.

Larceny

On Monday, Oct. 22 at 6:17 p.m. a 44-year-old Talmadge Hill Road resident reported a spare tire and rim was stolen from his Jeep while it was parked in the lower level of the Talmadge Hill Railroad Station.

According to the complaintant, the lug nuts were removed and the tire and rim were stolen—an approximate $600 theft.

On Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10:44 a.m. a 29-year-old Forest Street resident reported patio furniture—two chairs and a table—was stolen off of her porch sometime overnight. The furniture is valued at approximately $100.

Fraud

On Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 12:49 p.m. a Betsys Lane resident reported receiving a letter from Montgomery Ward asking him to confirm a purchase he allegedly made, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrnic. The 63-year-old male said he didn't purchase a 14-megapixel camera or a $408 bag.

According to police, the camera was shipped to Indiana.
