UPDATE: Merchandise Found in Suspect's SUV

Police have found more stolen clothing in an SUV left on Elm Street by a shoplifting trio.

New Canaan Police have discovered an additional $2,500 worth of merchandise in a larceny suspect's vehicle.

Officers arrested three women Sunday for shoplifting in downtown New Canaan—23-year-old Joyce Yalley, 24-year-old Kristle Bonfield, and 23-year-old Shana Mcleod. The Police Department obtained a warrant Monday to search a 2001 Ford Explorer parked on Elm Street that they suspected was involved in the thefts.

The search revealed clothing from various stores, including J. Crew, Rugby, and Ralph Lauren, with the price tags still attached. Five items still had security tags attached.

Further charges are expected to be brought against the three women arrested Sunday for the additional property found.

Police also discovered that Joyce Yalley had originally given a false date of birth and name, Jasmin Anna Yalley. Yalley will now likely face a criminal impersonation charge.
