[UPDATE] Branches on Valley Road Wires Causes Short Circuiting

Branches on wires at Valley Rd were smoking. Transformer not on fire, but New Canaan Fire Department on scene awaiting CL&P

 

[UPDATE] 4:09 p.m. According to the New Canaan Fire Department (NCFD), there were branches up on the lines causing short circuiting and smoking; however, there are no signs of an actual fire at this time. 

Fire trucks are at the scene right now waiting on Connecticut Light & Power to arrive, according to NCFD.

According to the CL&P outage map, there is one New Canaan residence without power.

Reports have been released of a transformer fire at the top of a pole at Valley Road and Colonial Road. 

New Canaan Police Department has requested Fire Department response.
