Competency, Integrity and Corbet

There has been good discussion lately regarding the optimal . While the past definition of the role may have sufficed for simpler times, the complexity of the current economic environment calls for significant financial insight and tighter control. The report that will soon be released by the , to which I am an Advisor, will suggest some options for the Town. I hope the resulting discussion will help clarify the direction the Town will take with regard to this position.

We may not yet know our final decisions regarding the role of the Town Treasurer, but it is safe to assume we should all clamor for the highest level of competency in all of our Town positions. I have worked with Kathleen Corbet on the , with Boston College alumni and even played the role of client in her tenure at Standard and Poor’s. Her high level of integrity is unmatched. In combination with her financial acumen, the main skill requirement of the Treasurer position, she is unsurpassed as a candidate. I hope you will consider voting for the best candidate in November, no matter what your party affiliation.
