The senator wants to hold generic drug manufacturers accountable for patient injuries.

BLUMENTHAL: The senator announced on Friday a bill called The Patient Safety and Generic Labeling Improvement Act that will hold generic drug manufacturers that injure patients as a result of side effects or known risks in their products accountable. According to a statement released by his office, the new law would address a loophole opened by a recent Supreme Court ruling.

LIEBERMAN: The senator made appearances on Fox News and CBS over the weekend to discuss the controversies surrounding the United States Secret Service and the General Services Administration. Lieberman called the behavior of the agents involved in the prostitution scandal as "reprehensible."
