Residents Volunteer for Town Boards, Commissions

The Board of Selectmen recently approved the appointments of eight residents volunteering for municipal boards and commissions.

 

What follows is a list of New Canaan residents volunteering their time to help the town operate through its standing boards and commissions.

The Board of Selectmen on Jan. 23 unanimously approved these appointments.

Said Selectman Nick Williams at the meeting, held at the New Canaan Police Department: “Thanks to all these citizens for stepping up to some pretty big jobs.”

In addition to those listed below, Gerald Ellis was reappointed as the board’s representative to the South Western Regional Planning through Dec. 1, 2014.

Board of Finance

  • Colleen Baldwin as an alternate member, for a term to expire Dec. 1.

Historic District Commission

  • Mark J. Markiewicz as an alternate member, for a term to expire Nov. 15, 2015.
  • Pamela M. Randon as an alternate member, for a term to expire Nov. 15.

Planning and Zoning Commission

  • Michael Crofton as an alternate member, for a term to expire Dec. 1.
  • John Flinn as an alternate member, for a term to expire Dec. 1.

Tree Warden

  • Reappointment of Bruce Pauley.

Utilities Commission

  • Joanne Kennedy, for a term to expire Dec. 1, 2015.

Zoning Board of Appeals

  • John Kriz, for a term to expire Dec. 1, 2014.
