'Whittling Down' Proposed Budgets [VIDEO]

With department presentations completed, the 2012-2013 budget is in the hands of New Canaan's responsible town boards, who must decide where and what to cut, if the goal of no more than a 2.5 percent tax increase is to be a reality.

's First Selectman Rob Mallozzi identifies the "key drivers" in the . The overall increase in the first draft of the 2012-2013 budget is about nine percent. Beginning today, town boards have three months to bring the final into line with his call for no more than 2.5 percent in tax increases.
