There is a growing need for Certified Sustainability Officers (CSOs) in businesses across America. Large companies already have them in place and the pending regulations will actually require someone in your company to act as the Sustainability Officer.
Compliance will include energy, water, and waste management as part of an overall plan. We now know that all businesses must start doing carbon accounting by 2017 or face fees and penalties, but it is important to get this started now to get credits and incentives or capture important contracts.

Other demands like Green Fleets, Green Supply Chain, and community programs will take the resources of an in-house employee. The best way to get ahead of these compliance issues and help your company get all the advantages of an efficient and sustainable business is to develop a member of your team as a Certified Sustainability Officer.
Each month, I host the local GBL Sustainability Forum; and I ask that you send your sustainability officer or someone who could act as your sustainability officer to this important monthly meeting. In these sessions, we will offer a unique opportunity to connect to other sustainable businesses, learn how to better operate a sustainable business, and achieve Green business certification in a legitimate manner. The Green Business League is an EPA Energy Star Partner capable of assisting homes, businesses, industries, and cities to attain an Energy Star rating and awards.

There is no cost to attend, but I do ask that all attendees make a commitment to attend faithfully. Our training and information is progressive, so missing meetings will minimize the benefits that I know your company will receive.
