Chyten Offers Free SAT vs. ACT Diagnostic to High School Juniors for Attending September 21 College Admissions Open House

When should the college-bound student take admissions tests? Which test is best, the ACT or the SAT?

Parents of teens can get straight answers from the experts at a College Admissions Open House at Chyten Educational Services, 70 Main Street in New Canaan, on September 21. Open House hours are 6 to 8:30 pm, with a presentation from 7 to 8 pm.

The Chyten program will cover an overview of college admissions today as well as the important decision about whether to take the ACT or SAT, now that all colleges accept both tests. To increase the odds of a higher score, it is critical to take the test that is best aligned with the individual student’s abilities.

Parents of high school juniors who attend the event will receive a complimentary certificate for Chyten’s proprietary ACT vs. SAT Comparison Test.  Chyten’s unique diagnostic tool analyzes student performance under each test and identifies which tutoring methods will provide the most effective test preparation. The certificate for Chyten’s ACT vs. SAT Comparison Test is valued at $100.

The Open House also celebrates Chyten’s newly enlarged center. To meet strong demand, the firm expanded this summer into adjacent space, adding a second new classroom and three new private tutoring rooms, bringing the total to eight. “We doubled our capacity to serve more students,” said Chyten owner and director Barbara Levine.

In their presentation Barbara Levine and Nancy Feigin will walk parents and teens through the key steps in the college admissions process and the timing that families need to keep in mind. Both experts will be available to answer individual questions before and after the program.

Barbara Levine has counseled over 750 families on their academic challenges, as well as providing standardized test preparation advice. With more than 20 years of college admissions counseling experience, Nancy Feigin has served as a college admissions officer at several colleges. In addition to providing the admissions facts, Feigin is able to offer insights that help students and parents get a realistic grip on this stressful process.
