Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis

"Osteoporosis, the Silent Disease: Taking Steps to Bone Health” is the next topic in the Waveny Care Center and Norwalk Hospital lecture series to be presented at Waveny Care Center in New Canaan on Thursday, January 12 at 4 p.m.  

Dr. Thomas V. Ayoub, chief of the Norwalk Hospital Medical Staff and an obstetrician/gynecologist in practice with Women’s Healthcare of New England, will be the featured speaker.

   Dr. Ayoub will discuss risk factors, screenings, prevention and treatment for osteoporosis.  The program will conclude with a question and answer session.

 About the Speaker

  Dr. Ayoub has been a member of the Norwalk Hospital Medical Staff since 1984. He serves on the Board of Directors of Waveny Care Center.  Prior to his appointment as Chief of Staff, Dr. Ayoub served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Norwalk Hospital.

   Since joining Norwalk Hospital, he has been active on Medical Staff and Hospital Committees.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree, cum laude, and an M.D. degree from New York University.  He completed his internship and residency at New York University/Bellevue Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident, Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has added qualification as a Menopause Clinician by the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties and the North American Menopause Society.

   Dr. Ayoub is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Fairfield County Medical Association, the Fairfield County Ob/Gyn Association and the Connecticut Medical Society.
