'Safari in Africa' Travelogue

presents a "Safari in Africa" – without the packing, the 15-hour flight and sunhats.

Dr. Les de Villiers, long time New Canaan resident, will be on hand for refreshments and tours starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, with a lecture at 7:30.

De Villiers will escort the audience through the wilds and present an illustrated talk about the joys of spending time with animals.

An extraordinarily accomplished photographer, Dr. de Villiers spends at least six weeks every year on a photo safari in Southern and East Africa, and when he is in New Canaan he plans safaris for others.

De Villiers is the author of several books on economics, politics, conservation and travel, including "The South African Travel Guide," produced with golfer Gary Player and the late heart-transplant pioneer Dr. Christian Barnard, and "Safari Guide."
