Lecture Series with Suzanne Benton: "Masks as a Portal to the World"

Suzanne Benton created the film "Masks as a Portal to the World," a life story as a working/traveling artist, from her 2009 illustrated talk at the Brooklyn Museum, Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.  In this film/lecture, Suzanne will discuss her work using masks and performance to give voice to characters from around the world.  The film, with commentary by the artist, illustrates masks, workshops, and scenes from the many countries Benton has worked and traveled.  At the completion of the film she will perform a mask tale and take part in question and answer dialogue with the audience.

Suzanne Benton, a performance and visual artist, is a native New Yorker who has shared her many-faceted art for over 30 years and in 29 countries.  She currently resides in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
