New Canaan Special Response Team Participates in SWAT Challenge

The Special Response Team (SRT) participated in the 2011 Connecticut SWAT Challenge hosted by the West Hartford Police Department.  During the three day competition/training event New Canaan SRT competed against 33 other federal, state and local law enforcement SWAT teams. 

Events included a rifle challenge, pistol challenge, vehicle assault, hostage rescue, night vision challenge and barricaded subjects.  The challenge culminated with a 6 ½ mile physical training obstacle course where the SRT had to negotiate 31 team obstacles.
