Interactive Session About Aging Pets

LOCAL VETERINARIAN LEADS FREE INTERACTIVE SESSION ON AGING PETS

Village Critter Outfitter is hosting an event this month at its store to give owners of adult and senior dogs information on how to handle your dog’s aging and what special needs are required.  On Tuesday, May 28th, Mellissa Shapiro, DVM, a local veterinarian, will discuss ways to help you be prepared for the extra needs that aging dogs require.

Dr. Shapiro has been practicing veterinary medicine and doing house calls in lower Fairfield County for the past 22 years. Her practice, Visiting Vet Service, is a full service veterinary practice with hospital back up. Dr. Shapiro offers personal individualized care to dogs and cats in all stages of life.  Senior and disabled pets are catered to with customized long and short term hospice and end of life care, and in home euthanasia services.

“Educating our customers on the needs of their aging pets will greatly increase the pet’s comfort and mobility as well as decrease injuries.” explained Shirleen Dubuque, owner of Village Critter Outfitter. “Dr. Shapiro brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to caring for our furry friends. It’s free and open to everyone.”

The session takes place on May 28th from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Village Critter Outfitter, 107 Cherry Street. For more information, visit www.VillageCritterOutfitter.com or call the store at 203-972-7000.
