UConn Horse Auction and Tack and Equipment Sale

Sixteen horses and one mule seized in animal cruelty and neglect cases will be offered for sale this Saturday, April 23, at the University of Connecticut’s Annual Spring Horse Auction at the Horse Barn Arena at the UConn campus in Storrs.

CT Dept. of Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky said the animals have been rehabilitated since their rescue and are ready to find homes. Proceeds from the sale go back into the rehabilitation program.  The sale is organized by  UConn’s Equine Science students who helped care for the horses after their rescue.

The University of Connecticut College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will also hold a tack and equipment sale to benefit the Equine Science Program in the Department of Animal Science. The Tack and Equipment Sale features a number of vendors selling everything from used boots and breeches to horse trinkets and saddles.
