New Canaan Boys Soccer Advances
Rams blank Lyman Hall 3-0, will face archrival New Canaan in second round of Class L state tournament on Monday
The New Canaan boys soccer team began its quest for a second consecutive state championship with a 3-0 victory over No. 21 Lyman Hall in the first round of the Class L tourament on Friday.
The win sets up a second-round showdown at archrival Darien in the second round on Monday at 2 p.m. The fifth-seeded Blue Wave advanced with a 3-0 win over No. 28 North Haven.
The 12th-seeded Rams improved to 10-4-5 with Friday's victory. New Canaan and Darien played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 10.

The winner of Monday's clash moves on the quarterfinals against either No. 4 Bunnell or No. 13 Naugatuck on Wednesday. New Canaan beat Bunnell in last year's state final.
